Chain Slings
Chain slings
Where textile slings fail — sharp edges, heat, abrasion, rough handling — chain slings work for decades: graded chain and components, assembled to your length and configuration, with shortening hooks to adjust legs on the job. The G80 LOK programme covers single-leg (1120–12 500 kg), two-leg (up to 17 000 kg) and three- and four-leg configurations (up to 26 500 kg).
For loads with sensitive surfaces, polyester slings are the gentler choice, and spreader beams keep multi-point lifts under control. Lashing is a separate, non-interchangeable product family — see lashing chains. Contact us with the load and pick-up geometry and we will assemble the right sling.
Frequently asked questions
How does the leg angle affect capacity?
The stated multi-leg capacities apply within the rated angle range — as the legs spread wider, each carries more force and the sling's capacity drops. Rate the lift by the angle actually achieved, from the table on the sling's tag.
What are the shortening hooks for?
They let each leg be shortened link by link, so an asymmetric load can hang level from a standard sling — no separate short slings needed for every load geometry.
How often must chain slings be inspected?
Visually before each use and periodically by a competent person per regulations; wear, elongation and deformation limits are defined per component. Damaged components are replaced by certified parts — one advantage of assembled slings.
How quickly can a chain sling be delivered?
Slings are assembled to your specification (legs, length, components). Request a quote and we will confirm the current lead time and delivery cost for your location.
