Step 0 — required

How will you use this hoist?

Pick the closest match. Each duty class has its own capacity envelope: the heavier the use, the lower the rated weight. Selecting a class lighter than your real-world use voids the manufacturer warranty and risks motor failure. If unsure, pick the highest expected class — the hoist you actually need.

1 Lifting capacity kg
2 Lift height m
3 Power supply

3-phase 400 V is the workshop standard. Use 1-phase 230 V for sites without 3-phase power — the catalogue surcharge is already included in the shown price (GPR 500: all profiles; GPR 1000: slow-speed NL only). NF and SF profiles need 3-phase supply.

4 Lifting speed

Single speed (N) is the standard 8 m/min hoist. Slow (NL) halves the speed for finer positioning. NF gives two-speed control (8/2 m/min). SF doubles the speed but halves the capacity (GPR 500, 1 fall only). Two-fall setups double the capacity and halve the speed.

5 Suspension trolley (corrosion-resistant)

Optional GIS suspension trolley in corrosion-resistant design to run the hoist along an I-beam. GHFR is manual (hand-pushed), GMFR is motorised (12 m/min travel). Both cover the full GPR capacity range up to 1250 kg.

6 Flange width (beam width)

Match the trolley to your runway beam flange. The wide-beam option uses the longer stainless support bolt.

7 Suspension

Eyebolt suspension is standard. The optional hook suspension (corrosion-resistant) lets you hang the hoist from an existing beam clamp or lifting point.

8 Chain bucket / container

The chain bucket collects the slack chain on the up stroke. Plastic is the cheapest; textile and sheet-metal (MF) buckets cover longer chains.

9 Geared limit switch

The standard geared limit switch stops the hook at the top and bottom positions. External limit stops are available for textile buckets.

10 Voltage / certification

Standard EU voltages are included. Special voltage covers non-standard motor windings; CSA/CUS is the North-American 60 Hz execution.

11 Control switch / pendant

2-button pendants control hoisting only; a motorised trolley needs the 4-button pendant (hoist + travel). Pluggable versions allow quick disconnect or later radio-remote retrofit.

12 Control cable length

Standard cable matched to the lift is the GIS catalogue length (2-button: lift − 1.2 m; 4-button: lift − 1 m). Enter a custom length if the control station sits elsewhere.

13 Safety load hook

Replaces the standard stainless load hook with a safety hook (latch plus higher safety factor).

14 Second brake

Adds a redundant brake for additional safety in lifting applications with elevated risk.

15 Thermal protection

Protects the hoist motor from overheating under heavy duty cycles.

16 Chain lubrication

The gearbox already uses NSF H1 food-compatible grease as standard. For applications with possible incidental food contact, the load chain can also be lubricated with food-compatible oil.

17 Frequency inverter (FU)

The FU version gives a soft start and stepless speed control (15–87 Hz) and extends the duty classification to A6/A7 — recommended for frequent, gentle handling of sensitive loads.

18 Operating data counter

Records operating hours, cycles and overloads for maintenance planning (readable via service interface).

19 Slack chain shutdown

Stops the hoist if the chain goes slack (load support failure). Required for some lifting-appliance applications.

20 Safety radio remote control

Replaces or complements the cable pendant with a safety radio remote. 4-button versions control the motorised trolley too.

The GIS GPR is the corrosion-resistant model of the proven GIS GP electric chain hoist, purpose-built for applications where impeccable cleanliness or aggressive surroundings rule out a standard hoist: food, beverage and pharmaceutical production, cleaning rooms, chemical plants, wastewater treatment and outdoor or salt-water environments. Lubricants comply with NSF H1 for incidental food contact.

Key features

  • All parts in the load thread in corrosion-resistant design: stainless round-steel load chain, clamping piece, bottom block, chain guide, load hook, hook/eyebolt suspension and screws
  • Aluminium housing and end stop with cathodic dip-paint (KTL) coating — resistant to water, oils, weak alkalis and acids, no colour spalling
  • Food-compatible gear grease (NSF H1) as standard; food-compatible chain lubricating oil available as an option
  • Protection class IP65, insulation class F
  • Capacities 125–1250 kg: GPR 500 up to 630 kg, GPR 1000 up to 1250 kg (2 falls, duty class A4/M4) — rated values are reduced versus the standard GP chain hoists because the stainless chain has lower strength values
  • Duty classes A4/M4 and A5/M5 (ISO 4301-1 / FEM); frequency-inverter (FU) soft-start version available as an option
  • 1-phase 230 V versions available (GPR 500 all profiles, GPR 1000 as slow-speed /NL)
  • Manual (GHFR) or motorised (GMFR) trolley in corrosion-resistant design available
  • Complies with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
