Step 0 — required

How will you use this hoist?

Pick the closest match. Each duty class has its own capacity envelope: the heavier the use, the lower the rated weight. Selecting a class lighter than your real-world use voids the manufacturer warranty and risks motor failure. If unsure, pick the highest expected class — the hoist you actually need.

1 Lifting capacity kg
2 Lift height (telescope) m
3 Power supply

The GPHT 500 is built for 3-phase mains only — 3 × 400 V is the workshop standard. 1-phase versions are not catalogued.

4 Lifting speed

Two-speed NF (8/2 m/min) is the standard — the slow stage gives precise positioning. SF doubles the speed to 16/4 m/min. The FU versions are frequency-controlled with a soft start: N FU 2.4–9.6 m/min or slow NL FU 1.2–6.9 m/min — recommended for delicate eccentric loads.

5 Load attachment

The Handy load suspension devices mount at the handle for quick fastening of loads. The angle suspension attachment carries eccentric special constructions (max. 150 Nm); the threaded-bolt connector M12 accepts custom load suspension devices.

6 Slack chain detector

Stops the hoist if the chain goes slack (load set down or support failure) — recommended when the telescope pushes loads into fixtures.

7 Thermal protection

Klixon thermostat protects the hoist motor from overheating under heavy hand-guided cycling (GP 250/500 frame).

8 Operating data counter

Records operating hours, cycles and overloads for maintenance planning (GP 250/500 frame).

The GIS GPHT 500 handy telescope model pairs the Handy one-hand control concept with a rigid telescope guidance: the load chain runs on the inside of the telescope tube, so eccentric loads and special load suspension constructions (up to a torque of 150 Nm) can be lifted without the load rotating or swinging. The control handle sits directly on the load thread — the operator guides the transport good and drives the hoist with a single hand.

Key features

  • Rigid telescope guidance — suspension of eccentric loads up to a max. torque of 150 Nm; the lifting process takes place through the chain on the inside of the telescope tube
  • Control handle fixed at the chain end — the operator guides the load and controls lifting with ONE hand; no pendant or control cable needed
  • Suitable for left- and right-handed people; the control coil always returns to the starting position
  • Based on the GP 500: up to 250 kg @ A5/M5, catalogued up to duty class A7/M7 (3-shift, 160 kg)
  • Three fixed lifting heights: 1200 mm, 1500 mm and 2000 mm (rigid telescope lengths)
  • Speed profiles: two-speed NF 8/2 m/min (default), fast SF 16/4 m/min, or frequency-controlled soft-start FU versions N (2.4–9.6 m/min) and NL (1.2–6.9 m/min)
  • Quick fastening of loads: fixed load hook, rotatable load hook, threaded-bolt connector M12 or the angle suspension attachment for eccentric load suspension devices
  • Optional slack chain detector stops the hoist if the chain goes slack
  • Protection class IP65, insulation class F, load hook DIN 15401; 3-phase mains (3 × 400 V / 3 × 230 V)
  • Complies with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
