How to choose a wall jib crane

A wall-mounted jib crane serves a workstation without taking up any floor space: the bracket bolts to a load-bearing wall or a building column and the jib slews through roughly 180° over the work area. The choice comes down to load capacity, jib length and what your wall structure can carry. The standard range covers 50 to 2000 kg with jib lengths of 2–8 m: the ZDS as the standard model, the ZDSK supplied with a trolley, and the low-profile NZD, which reaches up to 4000 kg and suits halls with restricted headroom.

The aluminium AZDS keeps the jib light for easy manual slewing at capacities up to 2000 kg. Around obstacles, articulated models — the ZZD and the self-supporting SZZD — bring the hook behind machines and through openings. Light stations are covered by the LZDS (50–100 kg), and cable or hose handling by the ZDAP reel-holder versions.

Like every jib crane, a wall crane is completed with a hoist — typically an electric chain hoist on a push or motorised trolley, or a manual chain block for occasional lifts. If no suitable wall or column is available at the station, a floor-mounted pillar jib crane is the alternative. Contact us with the load, reach and a photo or sketch of the mounting point and we will verify the wall loads and spec the complete station.

Frequently asked questions

What capacity and reach do wall jib cranes cover?

The standard range covers 50 to 2000 kg with jib lengths from 2 to 8 m; the low-profile NZD series extends capacity to 4000 kg. Pick the capacity from the heaviest load you handle and the jib length from the furthest point the hook must reach along the wall.

What does the mounting wall or column need to withstand?

The bracket introduces significant forces into the structure (a pull-out force at the top fixing and a compressive force at the bottom), which grow with capacity and jib length. The values for each model and configuration are stated in its documentation, and a structural check of the wall or column is required before installation. Send us a photo or drawing of the mounting point and we will verify it with you.

Wall jib crane or pillar jib crane — which one?

If a load-bearing wall or building column is available at the workstation, a wall crane is usually the cheaper option and keeps the floor completely clear. Where no suitable structure exists, or the crane must slew more than ~180°, choose a floor-mounted pillar jib crane.

Which hoist should I mount on a wall jib crane?

Typically an electric chain hoist matched to the crane's rated capacity, on a push or motorised trolley; occasional-use stations can run a manual chain block. Crane, hoist and trolley can be configured and delivered together as one ready-to-install station.

How quickly can a wall jib crane be delivered?

Wall jib cranes are manufactured to order in the configuration you select (capacity, jib length, hoist and trolley). Request a quote on the product page and we will confirm the current production lead time, delivery cost and installation options for your location.
