Spring Balancers
How to choose a spring balancer
A spring balancer suspends a tool in a "weightless" state: the spring-loaded cable carries the tool's weight, so the operator only guides it instead of holding it — which is the difference between a comfortable shift and a strained shoulder on any assembly line. Selection is simple: the tool's weight must fall inside the balancer's working range. The ENDO range covers everything from light hand tools on the EK-00 (0.5–1.5 kg) through the mid-range EWS series (1.5–7 kg) and the EWF workhorses up to 120 kg, to the heavy ETP models reaching 200 kg.
Alongside the zero-gravity models, the ELF long-stroke series offers extended cable travel for workstations where the tool moves over a larger vertical range. Two specialised families cover demanding environments: stainless steel balancers with food-grade lubrication for food and beverage production, and balancers for pneumatic tools that combine tool suspension with the air hose. For loads beyond spring range, or where precise up-and-down positioning of the load itself is needed, see pneumatic balancers. Contact us with the tool weight and travel you need and we will pick the exact model.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right spring balancer capacity?
Weigh the tool together with everything hanging with it (chuck, attachments, part of the hose or cable) and pick the model whose working range contains that weight — ideally near the middle of the range, which leaves adjustment room in both directions. The tension is then fine-tuned on the balancer so the tool floats at working height.
What is the difference between zero gravity and long stroke balancers?
Zero-gravity models (EW/EWS/EWF/ETP) keep the tool floating with a near-constant force over the cable travel — the standard choice for assembly stations. Long-stroke ELF models provide extended cable travel for the same capacity classes, for workstations where the tool moves over a larger vertical range.
Can spring balancers be used in the food industry?
For food and beverage production choose the dedicated stainless steel series with food-grade lubrication — the EWS-X and EWF-X models cover 1.5 to 120 kg with the same working principle in a hygienic execution.
What safety features do ENDO spring balancers have?
ENDO balancers are designed for overhead tool suspension with features such as a secondary support (fall-arrest) connection and a drum lock for safe spring and cable service; the exact safety equipment per model is listed in its documentation. The suspension point must always be rated for the balancer plus the tool.
