Pulling Hoists
Wire-rope pulling hoists
A pulling hoist (grip hoist) walks along its own wire rope, so the working distance is limited only by the rope — standard equipment for construction, forestry, installation and recovery work. The RPDS range covers 800 kg, 1600 kg, 3200 kg and 5400 kg, each supplied with 20 m of rope.
For lifting and tensioning at shorter range a lever hoist is handier; for vertical lifting from a fixed point, a chain block. Contact us with the load and pulling distance and we will size the hoist and rope.
Frequently asked questions
How does a pulling hoist differ from a winch?
The rope passes through the machine, gripped and advanced by internal jaws, instead of winding onto a drum — so pull length is set by the rope, not drum capacity, and the force stays constant over the whole distance.
Can pulling hoists lift as well as pull?
Yes — with the appropriate rigging they lift, lower and tension in any orientation. Observe the rated capacity for the configuration and use the shear-pin overload protection as designed.
Can I use longer ropes than the supplied 20 m?
Yes, the working length is set by the rope — longer ropes are available on request. State the required distance in the enquiry and we will quote the hoist with the matching rope length.
How quickly can a pulling hoist be delivered?
Request a quote on the product page with capacity and rope length and we will confirm availability, the current lead time and the delivery cost for your location.
