Pneumatic Balancers

How to choose a pneumatic balancer
A pneumatic balancer uses compressed air to hold a load "weightless" and reposition it with fingertip effort — where a spring balancer suspends a tool, a pneumatic balancer handles the workpiece itself: engine parts onto fixtures, boxes onto pallets, panels into jigs, cycle after cycle without operator fatigue. The ENDO EHB programme covers loads from a few kilograms up to 450 kg (EHB-CR), with control modules that determine how the balancer is driven.
The module is the key choice: MS modules give manual up/down control on a handle, BC balance-control modules let the operator move the load itself while the balancer follows, and ABC automatic models sense the load weight and balance it without adjustment — useful when part weights vary. Most EHB variants are ATEX-certified for explosive atmospheres, and specialised versions add inertia braking or anti-sway control. For simple tool suspension without an air supply, see spring balancers; for special configurations, special pneumatic balancers. Frequently asked questions
Pneumatic or spring balancer — which do I need?
A spring balancer suspends a tool of constant weight. A pneumatic balancer positions loads precisely with minimal force, handles heavier weights (up to 450 kg), adapts to varying part weights (ABC automatic models) and offers ATEX versions — the choice for repetitive workpiece handling rather than tool suspension.
What do the different control modules do?
MS modules give the operator an up/down control on a handle. BC (balance control) modules keep the load floating so the operator simply pushes the workpiece where it must go. ABC automatic modules sense the load weight and balance it automatically — no adjustment when part weights change.
Can pneumatic balancers work in explosive atmospheres?
Yes — being air-driven with no electrical drive, most EHB variants are ATEX-certified, including automatic (ABC-5P-B/ABC-5G-B) and anti-sway versions. State your zone classification in the enquiry and we will confirm the certified configuration.
What air supply does a pneumatic balancer need?
A standard industrial compressed-air connection with dry, filtered air; the required pressure and consumption are stated in each model's documentation and depend on the load and duty cycle.
How quickly can a pneumatic balancer be delivered?
EHB balancers are configured per application (capacity, module, ATEX). Request a quote on the product page and we will confirm the current lead time and delivery cost for your location.
