Buckles and seals for strapping

The buckle is where a strapping system succeeds or fails: the joint it forms is normally the weakest point of the loop, so the buckle must match both the strap width and the duty. For polyester strapping the range covers galvanized wire buckles for standard use and phosphated wire buckles whose rougher surface grips the strap harder, each in widths from 13 to 32 mm.

Beyond polyester, there are steel seals for PP strapping, plastic buckles for PP strapping and seals for steel strapping. PVC edge protectors round out the programme — they spread the strap tension over the cargo edge, protecting both the strap and the load. Applied with a manual tensioner, the buckle joint needs no tools, power or consumable seals-crimping. Contact us if you need help matching buckles to your strap and load.

Frequently asked questions

How do I match a buckle to my strap?

By width first — a 16 mm strap takes a 16 mm buckle — then by duty: galvanized buckles for standard applications, phosphated ones where maximum grip on the strap is needed. Using the strap manufacturer's matching buckle keeps the rated joint strength valid.

Galvanized or phosphated wire buckles?

Galvanized buckles resist corrosion and are the standard choice. Phosphated buckles have a rougher, high-friction surface that grips the strap harder, which raises the joint strength — the usual pick for heavier or settling loads.

Why use edge protectors?

A tensioned strap concentrates force on the cargo corner: the PVC edge protector spreads that force, preventing the strap from cutting into the load and the edge from abrading the strap. They are cheap insurance on packaged goods, timber and sharp-edged cargo.
